Dean Stevenson

Dean Stevenson plays the Piano under a sign displaying 4PM in lights

4PM

Each day at 4pm a quartet arrives to play what the composer has written.

At the beginning of the day there’s a blank page (but not really: ‘there’s no such thing’, says Dean). The hours then press upon the composer’s courage to write what comes to mind without too much reservation—because the musicians are en route to play the work. Today! No covers, no repeats, no forgiveness.
